Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Here's what to expect.

Questions You Might Be Carrying

faqs

What happens in the first session?

We'll spend our first session getting to know each other — what brought you in, what you're hoping for, and whether we feel like a good fit. There's no pressure to have it all figured out.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes, with a few legal exceptions, I'll walk you through before we begin (risk of harm to self or others, and abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult).

What if we're not the right fit?

That's okay — and common. If I'm not the right therapist for you, I'll help you find someone who is.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. I offer secure telehealth sessions to anyone located in North Carolina, alongside in-person sessions in Asheville.

Do you accept insurance?

[Edit: list accepted insurance panels, or note private-pay with a superbill provided for out-of-network reimbursement.]

How long does therapy take?

Every person's timeline is different. Some clients come for a few months around a specific transition; others stay longer for deeper, ongoing work. We'll check in regularly on what's working.

"I'd tried therapy before and never felt truly understood. This was different — direct, warm, and never clinical in a cold way."
